The story that sparked a movement began not with a grand proclamation, but with a quiet moment of compassion. During a Govardhan Puja celebration, a mountain of rice had been offered to God and then distributed to devotees. The discarded leaf-plates, still carrying remnants of food, were piled behind the building.

Rooted in Purpose.
Driven by Compassion.
Every meal we serve carries the spirit of a timeless teaching — that no one should ever go hungry.

"No one within a ten-mile radius of our centre should go hungry."— A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada
Founder–Acharya, ISKCON
Our Inspiration
Srila Prabhupada
Srila Prabhupada heard the commotion — dog barks and children's shouts — and stepped onto the veranda. What he witnessed shook him deeply: hungry children fighting stray dogs for scraps of food from plates that others had thrown away. Tears filled his eyes. And from that moment of grief was born a mission of grace.
"The temple is the house of God. God is everyone's father — so in the presence of the Father, the son doesn't go hungry. We have to make an arrangement that people get fed."
Born Abhay Charan De in Calcutta in 1896, Srila Prabhupada spent 32 years preparing for his mission before sailing to New York at the age of sixty-nine with just seven dollars and his translations of sacred Sanskrit texts. In the years that followed, he circled the globe 14 times, established the worldwide Hare Krishna Movement, and inspired a revolution in conscious, compassionate living. It is his instruction — that no one should go hungry — that gave birth to Hare Krishna Charities.

Chairman's Message

"Food sustains and nurtures life — Annam Parabrahma Swaroopam. To feed someone is not charity alone; it is an act of recognising the divine in every human being."
Inspired by the noble vision of our Founder and Acharya — Swami Srila Prabhupada — that no one within ten miles of our centre should go hungry, our journey began with a humble act of service: 5,000 meals shared in Hyderabad. Today, that single act of compassion has grown into over 2 lakh hot and nutritious meals served every single day across two states. I feel profoundly blessed to have witnessed, across these years, countless stories of hope rekindled and lives quietly transformed by the dignity of a meal.
The Vedic wisdom of Annam Parabrahma Swaroopam — food is the very form of the supreme — has been our guiding principle. It reminds us that feeding the hungry is not merely humanitarian work; it is a form of worship. As we grow in scale, we are equally committed to growing in depth — ensuring that every plate we serve carries not just nutrition, but the warmth of genuine care.
Our progress has been shaped by extraordinary people — dedicated missionaries who have given their lives to this cause, committed employees who show up every day with purpose, and a remarkable network of partners, donors, and well-wishers whose belief in our mission has made the impossible feel achievable. Our teams have responded to floods, pandemics, and calamities not with retreat, but with renewed vigour and spirit.
As we look ahead, we see an even larger responsibility and an even greater opportunity. The scope of the work before us is immense — and we embrace it with humility and resolve. We will continue to invest in technology, in partnerships, in people, and in scale — because hunger does not wait, and neither shall we.
We are deeply grateful to the Government of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, our corporate partners, individual donors, and the communities we serve. You are not merely supporters of our work — you are co-authors of this mission. I invite every one of you to join us as we embark on this new chapter of service.
Leadership
President's Message

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step — and ours began with the belief that every human being, at every stage of life, deserves the dignity of a nourishing meal."
When Hare Krishna Charities began its humble journey, our purpose was straightforward and profound: to ensure that no person who could barely afford a square meal would go without one. What began as an act of faith has, over more than a decade, grown into one of the most significant food service operations in South India — with over 17 crore meals served across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Today, we operate four world-class, technology-enabled centralised kitchens in Narsingi-Hyderabad, Mahabubnagar, Srikakulam, and Kakinada. Each kitchen is equipped with the capacity to produce 20,000 to 50,000 meals per day, combining the scale of an industrial operation with the hygiene, nutrition, and care of a home kitchen. These are not just facilities — they are instruments of transformation.
Our kitchens serve children who arrive at school ready to learn because they are not hungry. They serve patients and their families at government hospitals who would otherwise go without a meal during the hardest days of their lives. They serve daily wage workers who can afford a hot, wholesome plate for just five rupees. Each of these moments of service is a reminder of why we do what we do.
We continue to raise the bar — in ambition, in infrastructure, and in impact. Our vision is to serve more than 2.5 lakh meals every single day. We are steadily building the capacity, the partnerships, and the institutional depth to realise that vision. And we will continue to invest in technology that reduces waste, improves nutrition, and makes our kitchens among the most environmentally responsible in the country.
This work would not be possible without the unwavering support of our anchor partners, the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and the countless donors and well-wishers who believe in this mission. I extend my deepest gratitude to each one of you. Together, we are not just feeding people — we are restoring hope.
